I wish I'd been there to see how the Spanish chaps got mine off! Having seen the old bearing, they'd been at it with an angle grinder - I do hope thats all they used!
yeah, cutting is still a chore without nicking the 1/2 shaft.
I made a copy of the special tool out of 1/2 an old axle casing, bolt it to the bearing carrier, pop it in the press and hey presto, one unstressed or damaged axle shaft.
