I agree that you should put it down to experiance!

You saw the car before you bought it.. If you were unhappy you could've walked away!

You'd have some choices if it was from photos an then when it arrived it was sh!t..

But you went there.. Looked over the truck an still handed over the cash!

You really dont have a leg to stand on in the matter!!

I just hope it was cheap!!

Odd thing was that he picked me up from the airport (with his father), then my sis and i asked that it would be ok for them to drive to his home, then finalise things...but they drove into a morrisons car park and said they would walk home!!!...thought that kind of odd....oh well you live and learn.....fancy a fellow scot being so dishonest!!!
Hope Richard can find me some black doors.....
I also really need to get the back window working to be able to put my dogs in....I tried again with the window, it tried to move a fraction...

Is this a wind up? did you honestly fly to Scotland then do a deal for a truck in a carpark?

A few years ago my Dad sold his Ford Fiesta to the nephew of someone who lives in the avenue. My Dad mentioned to the guy that he was thinking of selling the car.... few days later the nephew came up our drive unannounced and within an hour my Dad had sold the car for £450. I told the buyer that we honestly did not know of any faults over than the boot lock, I stressed that the car was being sold as seen (told him this 3 times) and he said yes, that’s fine.

The Fiesta was in good over-all condition and had performed flawlessly during the time he owned it. The only reason he was thinking of selling was because he wanted a bigger car.

Two days later the guy and his mate are banging on my Dad’s door complaining that the engine had blown up... he came back the following evening trying to bully and put pressure on my Dad to give him half the money for a new engine... I stepped in and told my Dad not to give him anything. My Dad is in his 70’s and this was stressing him out badly. I took time off work to take my Dad to the CAB where they told us NOT to give the man any money and that he had no claim against us.The guy came around again and we told him the situation. He got nasty and said “you’ve got nice cars here and all I’ve got is one with a busted engine”. And then he came out with a statement that told us all we needed to know.... he said “I’m just not having any luck... that is 3 cars that have blown up on me in the last few months” we later found out from other people that he was a bit of a boy racer and thrashed his cars to death.

So having now learnt our lesson, on the rare occasion that either of us sells a vehicle we insist on the buyer signing a receipt to say that the car is being sold as seen.

I know it does not help your situation Shirley... I just wanted to show that if you’re a good honest person either buying or selling a car, that there are always people out there that will try and take advantage of you.
