not sure what its intended to be used for though?
The socket on the front says 'a/v in' which suggests it is an input for an audio / visual signal. This should be a red (right audio), a white (left audio) and a yellow (video signal) (fairly standard colours but not gospel)
The fact its playing up on start up suggests a wiring mix up with the permanent live and the ignition live. I'd double check all your connections esp. the power ones before sending it back.
Rob.

Look into Line Level converters..
They take speaker level input an make it suitable to feed an amp.
my XJ8 has one of them... Somewhere! Dunno where.. didn't fit it!
But anyway.. you could just take one feed from the dash speakers.. line level converter an then into a 4 channel amp an run all 4 speakers.. Should get a fairly decent improvment on the sound front for around £60 - £70!

i just tried doing a google search for tv/dvd head units and you get flooded with stuff from china. it seems that most of the stuff out there for in car tv/dvd/gps head units are all unbranded shit. i just looked at one for $800 and it didnt even have a name! lol
its a shame because i really wish it would work properly. it has everything i wanted and when it works it great! but it doesnt so.....
