I think you're right in a way, but on the other hand, my vehicle is my choice, and if I want to use it to drop the kids at school then I will.

I'm absolutely sure that the targetting of things like Cayennes, X5s, Mercs etc is 90% jealousy. 'Permastudent' types who I'm sure form the bulk of the 'alliance' know they'll never be able to afford a posh bike, never mind a Porsche, with a degree in 'underwater basket weaving sociology', and as such, whatever they spout will never be taken seriously.

If they could come up with sound evidence that 4x4s have 25% more accidents, or that they are responsible for the death of the polar bear, rather than tired old heresay from pseudo scientists, then I might take them seriously.

    Jealousy. Plain and simple.

        I agree completely with
""my vehicle is my choice, and if I want to use it to drop the kids at school then I will.""

However they will be able to offer a good arguement against you doing that...

Personally I think these people are very well off middle class labour types. You know the ones who live in £400,000 houses and go on and on about how hard it is for the poor people ? They will not be able to understand why anyone would need such a vehicle when they've got everything they need on their doorstep. Nice life if you can afford it.........

Thing is, how do these tree huggers get about.
Most of them own a car.

              How do they eat.
              They go to the supermarket.

How does the food get to the supermarket.
              By huge lorries.

How do they heat there homes.
              by burning gas.

How do they light there homes.
By flicking a switch, that burns fossel fuel.

If they are so hell bent on saving the planet then why don't they f*ckoff to a rain forest & live there with f*ck all & do us all a favour.

Bet they would soon be home. To$$ers.

I would absolutely love the chance to disappear to a rainforest and live self sufficient.. Just give me 200 grand and I'll do it.

I do agree with Wishbone on most of his points actually..

Personally i only have space for one vehicle... Whatever i choose it to be! So i chose a Surf... cheap, chunky, good looks etc for the money good luck finding a car with all the toys thats as good looking as a 2nd gen etc etc etc..

But if i had kids i would HATE to lug the fecking thing down to the schools.. If were in walking distance then I'd walk the kids there. Ok a lift is fine if its raining etc. But otherwise its just awkward from a purly "i cant be ar$ed" point of view.

I've been going into the centre of southampton more recently an its about to go nuts when i go in every other day for the training courses im on for gawd knows how long..

Theres a multi storey car park right next to the training place... I've got to park a 15 minute walk away because its the only long stay car park thats open so i can get in the damn thing!!

Thats paying the price for it being lifted but daaamnn i'd love my old fiesta back along side the surf right now!

Didn't say the surf wouldn't be part of the deal ... I'm kitting my 2.4 out with all the bits then when funds allow getting a 3.0 and swapping all the goodies over....

Is that bunch of muppets still around?

They haven't had a new thought on their site for years, and they never have the decency to respond to any emails, some of them didn't even contain swearing
                              Gone from 4x4 to 1x2
