Hi Rod,
Welcome to the forum, i am also local to you (kingswinford). As you can see i don`t post much. The members on here are first class with any help you require with Surfs. Having said that my 2nd gen 3.0 has been bomb proof reliable in my ownership of three years (40k mileage) with regular servicing which costs peanuts and so have not needed much help! They are fantastic vehicles in my opinion and sadly worthless now so bargains galore for buyers. I can`t see me ever giving mine away for peanuts - i`d rather end up wrecking it offroading it!

Well, on Saturday I watched my Land Rover disappear into the distance, twas a very sad time, like getting rid of your favourite dog or one of the kids. I'm now waiting for the current owner of the Surf to finalise his new motor and then it's all mine.
It's going to have a tough time settling in as I can't remember being without a land Rover for more than about three months in the last 39 years, the Surfs got a lot to live up to. The LR that's just gone never let me down in 8 years, that's a hard act to follow.
Time will tell.

May be looking for another Surf, this ones possibly fell through. The owner is self employed with a small business and because of the credit crunch cannot get finance on a newer vehicle.
If anyone knows to one, preferably SSR G spec for around 2k ish (prefer under for the first one just in case I decide it's not for me) keep me in mind. I shall know for definite Sat / Sun.

Dont fret, I was sad when my old Mercedes died, I bought a Surf, I have no idea why I really dont, I saw it on eBay and for some strange reason I bought it driving old Mercs was a kind of hobby, but I love my Surf so much I have been totally unrealistic lately in trying to get it back on the road (the timing belt broke) but I am flippin determined to make her live again!!!
Muwahahahaha...
Sorry..
