They're only jealous that they don't have a name of outstanding beauty, form and character, I just let them get on with it and relax knowing I'm in the right, again (it's a man thing so I've been told)

On a serious not, if I go for a Surf, how much are consumables going to cost, things like exhausts etc. I've checked the net and wheel bearings, brakes etc seem ok (higher than I'm used to but ok) but I could only find one exhaust supplier and it worked out to about £300 for a system not including down pipe, seems a bit steep being used to Land Rover prices.

For less then £300 you can get a Stainless exhaust made up mate.

Both of them will supply exhausts etc. Milners are cheaper but wont last as long!

Thanks Rod, I've been offered a uk spec motor at what appears to be a good price (and it's a known motor) is there much (any) difference between imported Surf and UK model (forunner ?). To me as an outsider a Toyota is a Toyota, all I know is I like them and they seem to have a very, very good reputation hence the interest in buying one (which is getting stronger all the time )

The Surfs have a lot more toys then the 4runner.

Chrome bumpers/mirrors/door handles etc.

4runners normally have a bit of rust where as a surf is normally pretty free from the stuff.

I'd personally always go surf.

OK thanks, so they're basicaly the same vehicle but UK model is base spec and rusty, Surf it is then.

Can some kind expert give his view on this please?
Had a Surf offered to me today from a guy I know, he reckons the only problems with it are rear window stuck and rear side windows sluggish. Apart from that all OK. It's done 18000 Km, just had new cam belt, battery, tyres etc and been serviced very regularly. It's on a private plate so no year letter but is 13 years old, price is right (I think) so, what model is it and is it any good.

Nope. It's no good. You're going to have to tell us the engine size, the letters on the back, the price, whether the tailgate lifts up or down etc before anyone can tell you anything about it. If it's got a genuine 18,000 on it, I will once again promise to eat my own b0llocks.

Ye i thought that "not the eating your bo11ocks bit" i mean the 18,000, must be a miss print & mean 180,000km.
