and i do remember that things like (older) back axles from jags and ford transits were the prefered modus operandi for drag racers , as they were very strong...and a transit back axle isnt a premium product...although after ploughing through that nissan forum, the guy sounds a bit of a wazzockNon intercooled nothing.

Would we say Toyota were at fault if someone ignored warnings to not use 4wd on dry tarmac? Or would they be chastised for ignoring the manufacturers instructions? There's a button there after all...
I agree with GWH. He sounds like a cock.
AND while I'm in rant mode, it looks like its been designed by a class of 14 year old boys. No style, no class. Built to appeal to the GTA player (and probably driven like one too!)Last edited by Apache; 25 October 2008, 23:15.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

ok, but as vince mentioned earlier, the modern engine management/computer should detect this sort of thing and override if its going to kill the car. we're not talking 15-20 year old technology here as is the case with our old toyotas and the 4wd use on road.
the guy's obviously a din though. i don't think anyone could argue that.i swear, it was like that when i got here...

This is their launch control right?
BMW M3 exactly the same... do it three times... no warranty...
Its in the manual, and you have read it, right?
Skyline exactly the same...
it does 0 - 60 in 3.4 seconds... and you HAVE to do that three or four times a day of course... I know I would... that why I drive my shed... 'cos it won't.....
you just have to laugh...

So what we're saying is that the car isn't REALLY capable of that 0-60 time. It's advertising man's dream to pull in suckers.
Just like a Ferrari F50 isn't capable of 0-60 in 2 seconds (unless Ferrari tweak the maps, and provide a button to allow you to do it 3 times before the gearbox detonates)
See what I'm saying?
The real world fact is that for real, RELIABLE performance you need to pay supercar money - or get a Dialynx Quattro . Whereas, if you want to do it for £40k, be prepared to have the car in the garage every week.Cutting steps in the roof of the world

plz mate do some research first(no going into one here lol,),but ive have loved these cars for years, your missing the point,i know u dont like them, but the earlier skylines happily produce alot of power without the probs, the members on that site are unhappy, and i would be too, they have come from previous skylines that can eat most supercars for breakfast, yes i know you dont like them, but plz mate, they cars are a car legend(i know u hate the fact),but it's true, yes they are ugly, but the whole point of them going faster than a supercar, hence they aint happy, and i wouldnt be either

Remember Clarkson doing a full throttle start in a Ferrari and saying Ferrari wont like this, maybe this is the same for the GTR. Then I would ask why can it be done if it will damage the car???

i think its a simple case of the wazook not reading the instruction manual properly.it was written in black and white not to turn off the vdc.so hes only got himself to blame and lets face it there are way to many electronics in vehicles nowadays.whatever happened to a gearbox with a proper manual shift, what was wrong with the old gearbox the one that could handle 1000hp if it worked and was proven why change it,way to many driver aids in cars today,go back ten years and give them a car without traction control and see how good a driver they are then.sort the men out from the boyswww.overfab.uk
