Ill do a full oil and filter change when i get home from work and see how that goes, there could be contamination in the oil but all looked fine.

Did you remove the pump fuel lines/ If you did check them. This is how they should be looking at back of pump.

My moneys on either pump timing or air in the pump (EW bet !)
Logicaly thinking, oil pressure problems wont make it hard to start, cure the poor starting and I reckon youll cure the noise.

Oh.........think I may have to go for an accumalator bet..............cam timing would also give the same symptons (1 tooth out ?)

          Hope this helps

Didn't get home till 5.30 and its raining but i've changed the oil and checked the fuel pump connections and they are fine, oil pressure builds up whilst cranking the engine but as yet it wont start, so im thinking its what i thought it was from the start, timing belt position, would 1 or 2 teeth out cause the engine not to start, it is trying but it wont go.

I got it running last night by spraying lynx down the air filter and then once warm it would fire up after about 4 turns of the engine, i haven't tried that tonight as i don't think it will prove anything, "it wont start because somthing is wrong"

So i need some guidance because altering the timing isn't a 10 min job.

So what you are saying is 99.9% timing then, as i think I've eliminated most probable causes???

gotta be if tappets etc were fine before and its making oil pressure, and now it wont start, but tbh if u had of said last night it wont start without spraying lynx down the air pipe,id have said timing lol

in a nutshell if your timings out,u get diesel and spark in the cylinder at wrong times,so u get spark but no diesel or vice versa

I assumed that it needed a boost to get it going as it was its first run, so used the lynx to start it up and then once it had run it would fire up after 3 or 4 turns of the engine.

I'm just trying to get as much information as i can before tomorrow as i rearly do need the truck at 5.00 on Monday morning, (don't want to bike it to work when i am asleep)

I must admit that there was a time when i thought fuel injected cars did not have spark plugs (and at the time i owned one)
