well there not exactly bearings like we know there more of a bronze bush with drillings in and the shaft floats on the film of high pressure oil.the bronze bush has a seal either end,and normally when a turbo goes its the seals that leak and the oil passes in to the inlet manifold and gets burnt hence clouds of black smoke, and low oil pressure.when you starve the turbo of oil imagine a shaft running at nearly 60,000 rpm with no lubrication its gonna chew the bearing up within seconds.

Could also be you're worrying because of a duff sensor, or a broken wire.

yep, imagine all those particles of chewed up phosphur bronze bush going round all the oil galleries and bearing caps, most of it wil be taken out by the filter, but some always manages to get through,i hope you flushed the oil before you put new stuff in.

Sound advice........It's easier to find a problem if you can see it , All we can do is come up with ideas and a sensor can give the impression of something worst

Particularly as it drives ok with no odd noises and no water loss - most old surfs use a bit of oil - thats normal.

My money would be on it being nowt.

you could always try disconnecting the batteries for half an hour and then reconnecting them this resets the ecu, so it may get rid of the light.

Just noticed SaraMedz posted 17 messages in one day. Gonna be a serious competitor for Vince if she keeps up that level of chattering. But then, thats what scousers do best... I should know... Vicki has mastered the art of not having to breath in at all

<edit> mmmm... look at them tyres
