        But my original question stands...

Are WVO and SVO actually classed as 'biofuels'? I dont think they are. I think biofuels are the transesterified ones, so we'll still have to pay the tax on SVO and WVO wont we?

I'd LOVE someone to prove me wrong because this would cut my annual fuel bill by thousands!!!

Just wondering ...if people on this forum are registered as "bio fuel producers"(when they are using veg oil) then by default the fuel they are making would be classed as "Bio fuel"

          Just a thought

Thats all well and good, but I doubt it would carry much weight with C&E if they dip your tanks. They're theiving b*stards and I so much want to be able to use SVO without being taxed (and be green into the bargain) but I honestly cant see HM Govt opening the floodgates to millions of diesel drivers to make some small mods to their cars and not pay any fuel tax ever again!

I agree...there must be a catch... we will have to wait and see if anyone get "de-registered" next month because that would be a good sign

I have emailed them to confirm whether you need to be registered even if you are going to be below the cut off level if you're not already registered.

                  Hope that makes sense

They would be stupid to still charge for using wvo svo cos it will cos them more in processing the checks, for like £6, from a smaller percentage of oil users. I told them i would be using veg oil and not making bio. As far as i understand its all pretty much the same. We will find out when we get our letters with Junes declaration.

Guys, do I have to make a mod for veg oil, or is it simply a case of buying myself 20 litres fo rape seed oil and bunging it in the tank with 40 litres of DERV? I read the veg oil sticky and thought there was no modification, other than to my tax return. This is great news!
