Just called Toyota UK and they are now passing the details to Toyota Europe who will pass them onto Toyota Japan for them to say if my car is to be called back in.. I have just been told that this could take a few weeks to hear anything back tho?
ive been on the phone to them. then a few minutes later i got the call returned with a worried young lady on the other end. she said 'i understand you have a steering problem' i said yes and no... and was told to not to drive it until i get it looked at for safety reasons.
i said yes and no because if i said no, then that might have caused confusion..
my details are being passed over to japan. 478224
Can anyone tell me what the recall covers? What exactly are the symptoms?
TA
i read up, and apparently the steering arm cracks udner heavy stresses - eg off road and they used the term dry turning where your stationary and turning the steering a lot. these cracks can get worse over time. and to solve it they replace the steerig arm for a better one. thats it.
also i read if yours has been done there is a yellow mark on the chassis plate, but i dont know if they all follow this rule or not.
