Hi, Anyone using fully synthetic oil in your truck's engine? As most of u recommends Semi synthetic engine oil. my Q: why not fully synthetic?

I always use the same grade and type of oil that was available when vehicle made . Modern vehicle tolerances are tighter then 10 years or so , so the more modern oils will be to thin as already posted . I run Tam's '68 Herald and my Runner on good old 20/50 cheapo oil £3 per gallon. Good oil pressure and lasts well .Rick...Member of 1st Gen club. ONE LIFE ... GET ONE !!

i used castrol magnatec semi synth 5/30 last 6 months,thought it was ok until i just put in magnatec 10/40 semisynth...now i realise why my engine was noisier than a bag full of cats....goes to show the more expense/quality of the oil dont always help!!like vagrant said 16 years ago 5/30 or fully synthetic oil was like finding a virgin in essex high st!!DONT RUN WIV BIG DOGS IF U CANT PI** UP TALL TREES
