hehe, there we go, now we know what you need! (but I haven't got one )....

G=8" (which any Surf or Pickup rear is) 29=4.100 (rear ratio, very important this is correct if you ever want to use 4WD) 4=4 pinion (non-EFI 2.4 are 2 pinion, most EFI 2.4's and all 3.0's are 4 pinion)

Glad to help. At least you have found out what you are looking for. If you ever need to know anything, give Steve a call, he is very helpfull. You could order one from him, but I guess it would be quite expensive from Toyota.

if you are registering online for spares beware - a lot of these bu88ers want your mobile number, they will continue to send you texts for ages @ £1.25 a throw some of them saying 'dont forget we can help'...etc etc and to stop will cost you £1.50 per min, on a recording that lasts for ages
you would do better to give an email address that you dont use much, then if they become a pest abandon it or block their mails
sound like you have had enough agro without these guys adding to it
Did I mention I have a BLUE one

hehe, Its Ok, I was trying to find some info.

You could easily do the shaft and diff, while the shafts are all the same, if the diff doesn't have the same gearing, its no better than not finding a whole axle, but you could fit your ring and pinion to another diff unit. I can get you a shaft, easy, but my used diffs are an earlier type for the 2.4's, and not as strong as the later 4 pinion diffs fitted to 3.0's

If you find another 4 pinion diff, you can swap your ring and pinion on to it, but its a bit of a specialist job, and assuming you ring and pinion is OK. If your R&P is stuffed new gear sets are roughly £180+ fitting cost.

Have you got your old shaft out yet? Would be cool to seea pic of it.
