The BIG Meet and Greet Camp Out

So far the plan is (subject to minor tweaking!) all meet up on Saturday, with maybe a couple of trips out for tasters. Then a big boozy night in the pub.

Sunday will be tours out over the plains and hopefully Heddington Steps. Another boozy night in the pub, followed by more tours over the plains and the Test Valley.

The site is easy to find from the A303, west of Amesbury, Wilts. I'll find a decent map later and post it.

Its a £10 donation to charity, per pitch for two nights. We have the use of the pub function room for FREE as long as we order food. I would like all the donations to be in by 3rd April. This is so the landlord can get staff organised for dinner, and I can give the landowner of the camping an idea of how many numbers. Can you please post them to me with a note to say who its from and what you are sleeping in and if you have dogs.

Just checked the above link.. I thought this was meant to be a simple trip out for beginners. If this is the report for the area it would appear a little bit more extreme?????

Steep – potentially difficult, impassable without winches or a tow.

That particular route is supposed to be ok in the summer and going down the steps. not up! I'll be reccy-ing all the routes that I have in mind, a couple of weeks before we go so I can see exactly what they are like.

Its not the only route we'll be doing so, those who dont want mud or scratchy bits can easily avoid a particular section, or do the easy routes. The routes are 99% do-able in a shiney truck, with road tyres and standard set up. Especially at the time of year we'll be there. I'm running road tyres and standard suspension, and I'm yet to get stuck anywhere (except when I'm pushing my luck in a water filled bombhole!), nor have I ever broke anything, not even my fog light!

Its not going to be a major expedition, but a leisurely drive in the country.......Promise!

i have been very busy at work so ive not been keeping up with things...however i have a party pooper confession...
due to spending the last six months revising for an exam at work, i have completly neglected the fact that i live in a cottage that does not have a kitchen including a sink!! and that women do not like homes that are not been renovated! at this stage i will be relectutantly pulling out and will do a nearer the time assesment.
..oh yeah and the darn thing is still bust
