How about using semaphore with flags. Kev have u still got them England flags? We could have the kids stood up out of the sunroof! If not then they must be dead cheap now to buy.

            What frequency are they on?

I've got 7 handheld radios I can re-program to match.

Ok, no problem, I can sort those frequencies.
Do you use any CTCSS or DCS codes?

If you're not sure, let me know the make and model of your radios.

Some radios transmit a sub-audible tone or digital code everytime they transmit. The receiving radios have to be set to the same code before they will open up the receive side or squelch so that the received audio can be heard. This is basically to help with radio congestion.

I'll do a check now on your model of radio.
If it looks like it may be an issue, I can probably meet up with you before the 25th and actually scan the code out of your radios and program the same code into mine.

Ok Grim, looks like your radios don't use CTCSS/DCS, so we should be ok as we stand.
