Spoggle, that was the Ireshopeburn route mate. Couldn't pass it as the snow was that deep. And yes, that was me stuck!

Here are a few more pics, you can see how deep the snow was as the bikers had to carry their bikes out of it. I felt really bad yesterday, I felt like I had let people down and was actually considering giving up laning.

cheers jim, thanks for the offer! its a 3rd gen i'm keen to get (lift up boot is what i'm after really!) and saw one just near me, so will go and knock on the lads door, failing that i'll pop down amble n have a chat with you!

Hey Jim, you couldnt help the snow being that deep. I went over the tarmac road just east of that route last weekend and I could see that the snow was still lying on the tops, saw some black grouse too. Which route were the locals unhappy about you guys going over? Hope to have my truck sorted by next weekend and may be tempted to take Jo out for the day but dont want an ear bashing. Hope you dont give up laning mate and look forward to a day or two out later in the year, or how about a 'road run' to the Lakes or the coast up Northumberland. Picknick or a BBQ on the beach somewhere? I'm sure a few of the guys on here would be up for it, could even make a weekend of it and take tents. I could even bring my caravan, got a bad back me

Spoggle, the route we had 'local' bother on was from Rookhope over towards Blanchland. We did it when we went out with Andy the first time. One very irate gadgee armed with a camera, suppose it could have been worse he could have had a pitchfork!

This is a local green lane for local people!

Aaron, wouldn't mind a camping trip to Reeth mate, it looks very nice. Bought a nice tent 2 years ago but only used it once.

Keep in touch if anything comes up please. (Has to be warmer weather though, I hate the cold!)

Er, the road from Rookhope to Blanchland is a public highway, sure you guys wernt eyeing the local sheep up? I've seen one or two pretty ones up there .Or was it the lane over Blanchland moor to Slaley Forest. Now that track crosses access land, so could be a problem. But have to say I've been over that way loads of times, seen locals and they just smiled and waved. Sure they just hadent seen anyone from the outside for a long time and were perhaps looking for new blood. Anyway, think I must have stared something when I mentioned camping. I'd rather take the caravan though, waking up on a deflated lilo dont do anything for my back these days

                      Cheers Spoggle

                        Rookhope over towards Blanchland

if it was the old railway line, upto Dead Friars, thats not marked as a greenlane on my OS map

Did you do the Doctors Gate > Hamsterley lane? whats it like?

Walked it but never driven it. Ask Scorpion, think he did it last year. If memory serves me right I think someone got stuck in a ruddy great hole and it took hours to get em out. As I recall, from walking out that way, there are one or two quite deep drops in the lane. Could be fun if ya not bothered about breaking something, or sleeping under the stars.

                          Cheers Spoggle

Doctors Gate = Brown pants + axle breaker! Nice drive into Hamsterly Forest once you're through it though.
