Ian think Scotty may be interested in the crazy gang outing. His Surf sits higher than mine with a great set of MT's. So should cope well in the hostile conditions
Have the routes changed sine my last crazy drive??? Will my little un make it???

We run the Glashan Burn in reverse which means climbing the steep hill you reach at the end on the usual direction run
. We also run the section at Craig Murrail in reverse which adds two good hilly sections, we only do this when it has been dry for a few days or we cause to much damage which we have to repair
. So I see no reason a competent driver could not do all parts. Clearance is the biggest asset. The downside is we do not avoid any scratchy or possibly damaging routes

my chainsaw makes a much quicker job
At this moment in time I have just come in from the garage , my gearbox had finally had enough of 5 years hard slog in the forest so had it out. Two new gears, a mainshaft and a selector slide in transfer box all done, the box is now back in what a lump the box is my good lady Marion was my helper and just all the fiddly bits to connect and were ready to roll
I drive a 300 TDI Defender swb
In saying that I am not in any way a Land rover fanatic but after owning two superb 2.8 SWB Isuzus I found the constant off roading and subsequent replacing of parts was a definate downside cost wise. The Landy parts are very cheap and I get loads of bits as they fall off the guys motors on the drives
The big advantage of the 90 lies in its suspension setup the wee white beastie just loves the deep mud and ruts. I miss the smoothnes s of the Isuzu but the 90 is a great all rounder. We are waitng on delivery of a new Defender to replace the wifes tired Discovery cant part with the trusty 300
