We had a good (free!) day out around the area too - spotted you lot parked up in Llanarmon DC around lunchtime, and our comments to each other were along the lines of "that can't possibly be one group can it?".
I'm really dissapointed to see that it was.
I can count 15 vehicles in a few of those pictures. I'm so glad we didn't have the misfortune to meet you lot coming the other way at any point.
I know it was organised by an external group and not yourselves, but groups that size are ridiculous and irresponsible (on the part of the organisers). Simply 4x4 may give you a good day out, but it looks to me like they're more interested in how much money they can take in as short a possible a time, instead of being interested in preserving our hobby.
Like I said before, there's enough bad feeling around this area already against offroad users, please don't go making it worse.
Geoff.

i agree in part to your coments
our group consisted of 6 surfs, 1xl200(organizer)
1xpajero1xlandy a total of 9
unfortunatly as you say simply4x4 are a business and had 2 other groups booked on the same day one being a bunch of landy owners and they were 12 strong.
also
i have known of several organizations all running runs on the same day, landy owners club, simply4x4,ultimate4x4
through the trail riders fellowship (motorcrossers) and individuals like yourself, illegal bikers, quads plus mountain bikers, RAMBLERS, horse riders, council workers, forestry commision and of coarse farmers into the equation and we have a problem and of coarse we are the ones who will lose out.
what we need is someone like you with local knowledge who can organize small group runs, to the benifit of the locals, and the trails.
within 12 months the ramblers will have there own way and the trails will be open to them and illegal bikers only,
i live 1 mile from the north edge of snowdonia nat park , here i cant even use my mountain bike safly on designated bike only routes coz of the ramblers and forget 4x4's

Going out again on the 3rd, but there's already enough going to draw the limit I'm afraid.
Going to check out some land that a friend owns at the same time - he's the sort of landowner that gets pleasure from seeing people enjoy his land, so if it's good I'll try and organise some more visits and give you a shout.

i think as far as Wales goes the hill top farm land will be one of the only options left, but businesses like ultra are already exploiting this avenue and farmers (fair play to them)are getting wise to this and starting to diversify into this obviously for money.
i say keep it small and infrequent so we can carry on to enjoy what we want to do(twos company three is a crowd)
just never do it alone 4x4ing that is, our mountain rescue guy are fed up with solo hillwalkers needing rescue
johnSurf.gone but not forgottendisco now gone aswell
