Today I have
I have this afternoon,
Fitted a pair of lexus IS200 seats to my gen2 2.4
It's not difficult at all really, passenger seat is a
doddle, bend the front brackets down to 90 deg.
and bend the rears flat, (angle grinder required)
3 or 4 tries and it will fit. You may want to weld up
where you have ground the brackets if you wish.
The drivers is a bit more involved, same as before,
front's to 90deg, rears go flat. front bolt holes are a
close line up, put the inner bolt in first. Rear bolts are
miles away!! what I did was to drill the outer bracket
to line up with the orignal hole below. For the inner bolt,
I drilled through the floor, and used a new 8.8 h/t bolt,
nylock nut and a 2mm thick by 50mm diameter washer
underneath to spread the load,
The electrics, there is a connector under the seat with 4
wires, 2 thick, 2 thin, the thick white is the positive, the
thick white with a black trace is the negative, this will give
you all the seat movements. I have not bothered with the
heaters. (I'm quite brave, and anyhow, that's the wife's job)
The yellow covered wires are for the airbags I think, don't
bother with them.
Sorry no pictures, flat battery in camera!!! Oooops!!!!!
will try to get some of the finished job later. you feel to
sit quite high after the Recaros. (so don't fall out when
leaving the cabin)
Hope this helps
