    Pipes

Yep the pipe was made and fitted by Custom Chrome (Isle of Man). 3" bore stainless from turbo to the centre back exiting in a twin pipe. Something different! They fitted two chrome cherry bomb silencers creating a lovely deep noise and a turbo whistle to die for! total cost 530. Oh lifetime garentee to boot! When I get chance I will post pics.
I did ask about copying it to sell but there is too much messin' about - making jigs etc.
    Cheers
    Tim

        Dieselbob

Saw your note on fitting one of the magic boxes. Have you compared the mpg before and after fitting. Also which version did you fit?

          Allisport intercooler

Just a follow up .... many years later

Allisport left me high and dry, totally unhelpful in the end.

They did send an exchange black box which did not cure the problem and then claimed I had something wrong with my ECU. I tried a replacement ecu a couple of years ago and still had the faltering.

Allisport offered to send me parts to make up a pressure guage so I could monitor the wastegate opening pressures but the parts were never sent.

I feel there is more power at lower revs so I've left the intercooler in, and the high speed faltering can be managed by careful use of throttle or dropping the overdrive out.

Make your own mind up about allisport's handling of this matter.... would I recommend this Mod, from my experience thats a very firm NO!

As a footnote my insurer NiG thru Lifesure has just dropped out of the car insurance business and my premium has gone up from £378 to £799. As he was setting up the deal the Lifesure agent kept phoning to ask about the intercooler Mod.

I suspect this affects the way insurance companies are quoting so bear this in mind when deciding on fitting an intercooler.

You HAVE to declare it, should you have an accident you mau find yourself uninsured if it is spotted bu the claims assessor.

Anyone got a spare inlet manifold lying around... I would like to try bypassing the allisport intercooler!
