Tis a good price, I just ment there arn't many that cheap, thats why heavily modded 3rd Gens are hard to find.

Don't get me wrong, I like bobtailed trucks, but you have to weigh the amount of effort involved, dropping a 3.0 in a pickup and them bobbing it back the shackles is far easier than bobtailing (decently, not just hacking off the rear and plating over the hole ) a Surf.

Rear overhang on a bobbed leaf sprung truck vs a coiled truck is really picking at straws, when its that short either will work just fine.

Don't write off a slightly longer wheelbase either (only cos you brought it up, and even thought a single cab mk3 pickup is the same 102/3" wheelbase as a 2nd Gen! Your 3rd Gen is 105" ) A long wheelbase is a big advantage on any hill or slope with steps on it, as well as being less choppy ride generally.

Correct me if I'm wrong but my views are,
A pickup will only have a 2.4L compared to 3rd gen 3.0, the rear can't be shortened as much due to the leaf springs and also I think the pickup has a longer wheel base which is a disadvantage.

Personally If taking the grinder out I prefer to turn it into a single cab tray back but is it just much easier to leave the double cab?

I was actually thinking something along the lines of this, but hey not as rough and with a tray back and bobbed
Only thing I'm not sure about is when doing a body lift kit what happens to the bushing between chassis and body just below the rear passenger doors, would part of the original floor need to be left intact as far back as the rear wheel arch?

I don't know what annoys me the most about that, the atrocious grammar, the shocking hatchet job or the outragous price for it!
