This one would look so much better without the bullbar and wind deflector.

Has anybody ever done a 3rd gen ,I bought a second 3rd gen to build for offroading.
Most trucks I've seen are 2nd gen and bobtailed leaving the double cab, I was thinking of a single cab with trayback like above. Is there a reason why this isn't a popular choice?
Is it just too much work or is there issues with body strenghting?
Let me have your opinion, thanks.

Apart from most people don't have cash to chop up a £4k 3rd Gen while there sub £1k 2nd Gens aplenty, most people just buy a Pickup in the first place.

Some people shouldn't be allowed to use an angle grinder!

Tony ,I gave 2k euro for it, ya pay that for any pickup here in Ireland even if it's in the state of the Top Gear hilux
Correct me if I'm wrong but my views are,
A pickup will only have a 2.4L compared to 3rd gen 3.0, the rear can't be shortened as much due to the leaf springs and also I think the pickup has a longer wheel base which is a disadvantage.

Personally If taking the grinder out I prefer to turn it into a single cab tray back but is it just much easier to leave the double cab?
