2lte gurus advice needed for this painfull trouble shooting on new engine cold starts
Fair enough. But you also say the engine is spot on mechanically, is correctly plumbed, wired and timed. Also all relevant sensors are fine. If this is taken at face value, you don't have many options left.
Glad you're all sorted and that you didn't follow my advice! Thought you'd eliminated the TPS though! Fingers crossed for a winter of trouble free Surfing for you. Don't forget to post us some pictures!
people on here have had the pump timing out 180deg's when they have had the pump off then refitted so i just wondered if this may be the case with yours thats all.
You should be able to adjust the throttle cable on the throttle body to bring the idle up a bit.It may be the right way of doing it or the wrong way but thats how i adjusted mine a while back
I know an ol thread but if you are looking at this storm is bang on the money with his theory of 180 as I just did timing belt and kids turned fuel pulley 180 and I never noticed, put all together and knocked and ran rough,
update: surf runs great, still have an issue with the cold starts, -20* starts very smooth no caughing or spitting, +25* no problem, anything in between runs rough,i have been reading for months and playing with the surf in order to locate the issue, i have 2 conclusions
1) while 10.5 vots at plugs runs smooth, when 6.5 volts runs rough, thought i could do a superglow system, is there a way to reverse the solenoids so the 10.5 volts would be secondary while the engine runs?
2) injection pump timing need to be advanced slightly, keep in mind my idle is at 500 rpm kinda low, figure this might work due to what i have read?
anyways i could use some help here, there must be some info on this somewhere?
