You don't have to get a bodylift if you fit a suspension lift.

I'm wondering if the garage are taking the p*ss.
Perhaps they noticed a bit of wear in them last year, told you and billed you for the work but didn't actually do them. Now this year the same wear has been noticed and the mechanic has flagged it up.

Just my suspicious mind, but my truck never goes into the garage unless it is an absolute necessity, I just don't trust them.

as the ball joints failed before the end of the warrenty year, as identified by the garage, they should replace them, i would be in his face demanding they do the work for free, i replaced both my lower ball joints with milners ones, one failed within the year, called milners and they replaced it with no question. Think you need o read the bloke his fortune cos he is taking the p.iss

          New head
          Rear Diff swap
          new front quarter
          suspension lift
          body lift
          etc
          etc

what would you call absolute necessity then , if the above wasn't ?

This is the same garage that gave you the stupidly expensive bill for CV boots?

I'd give em a wide berth after you get the work done under the warranty that comes with the balljoints you got fitted, the work they did however will only be guaranteed for 3 months in most cases, so you will probably still have to pay for labour.

When I was getting the hose ends on the steering pump re-fitted....never had the tool to do it.

Where is Long Eaton then? I've heard of it but can't think where it is at the moment
As said you don't have to have a bodylift to have a 2" suspension lift. You can have one or the other and both if you wanted.I'm more than happy to fit the kits if you wanted to come down for a weekend or something and spend a day fitting everything and i don't charge very much either.

Sparks, did my tip for the tensioner work ok mate?

Your getting pretty handy on the tools yourself mate!

Feels so much better doing a good job yourself and perhaps learning something along the way than paying the garage to bodge it.

Brians tip of turning the engine round twice by hand saved me new valves, rods and who knows what else.
What a difference being a few teeth out makes.

had to devise a vice with my spring compressors as havent got round to buying one yet.
                    Worked a treat
                    Thanx

collecting your compressor at 5 tomorrow

Excellent cheers for getting that for us.

The turning the engine tip is actually Albannachs tip.

I'll give you that, although it was a collective decision to compress it, you just happened to have the clamp.
