Removing air con pump ?

Currently got the timing cover off as have just done the crank oil seal. Waiting for new timing cover seal to turn up so have a spare day.

Is there any reason not to remove the air con pump ? - I removed the radiator for it last year when I did the head. Means 1 less belt to worry about and easy access to the alt if it has any probs ?

Something in the back of my mind is saying 'loads on pulley changes' but I think I may be making things up

By the way, those 4" speaks can go anywhere apparently. Ian had them in his dash with foam behind them, not sealed. So I reckon I could seal them in the doors somewhere, would save me a whole heap of grief?

Worth a go - as long as it has a bit of space to breathe into. You can always put it in a tiny test box and run a sine sweep through it's bandwidth and see if there's any big peaks.


Just had a quick look at the alt connections - not much room to do a wire upgrade and need to find where it goes in the fuse box. I don't think it goes straight to the battery.
