Follow this procedure for removing/replacing etc.......

It shows a replacement gasket but sealant is fine to use.
Re: the propshaft, as long as you don't move the truck when the shaft is disconnected, it'll go back in the same position.
Can't comment on the exhaust as it's a long time since I've been under a 3.0.
