It's dead easy if you know what you're doing. But i'd never advise anyone with basic mechanical abilities to work on their brakes, you could end up very easy dead... (see what I did there? )

When i removed mine to fit new pads + discs etc i dont think there was anything too bad.

My uncle made me use a 'hydolic spanner' or something, which turned out to be almost a ring spanner with a section missing, purly so you cant grind the edge of the nut off!

The hardest part about fitting new calipers will be paying for the new caliper!

You make it sound easy guys. I've still to get my braided hoses on as well. Not sure if should do it myself or not now

The guy that usually does my stuff aint doing anything till after new year so don't know if i can wait that long. Do i put my life in my own hands??????

Got the calipers 65 quids. From a breakers and the pads are pretty new on them.
Take it you need to top up brake fluid as well once done?????

If you're replacing the hoses, then you'll definately need to bleed the brakes then!

ugg, from a 'professional' point of view, at least put new set off pads in, used brake parts are a dodgy way of saving money.

I understand why mate, just makes me feel Espeically on a lifted truck with bigger tyres = much higher brake stresses than the brakes where designed for.

I've got a set of genuine pads that i'd bought before i knew my calipers were knackered so they can go on. Just need to work out how to do it all

Have you got a Surf manual for reference? Any car manual will help really, with anything to do with front brakes and system bleeding.
