Changing my front pads today & one of the Pistons popped out & is now siezed. Ive removed caliper & tried to press it back in but it wont Budge.
BUGGA!
I've had success before using a g-clamp to press a piston back in when changing discs. Can't say for sure that it will work on a surf as I haven't had the brakes apart yet.
The g-clamp I use has a bar rather than the 'wingnut' on the adjuster, which means i can use a large ring spanner to get leverage.
Ive pushed & pushed. Whacked it with a Hammer on a piece of wood and it wont budge
You what! The piston should push back in very easily unless you have dislodged the seal and jammed it between the piston and caliper somewhere other than the seal groove.
