  • Help, 4WD NOT WORKING! ADVISE PLEASE

Hi Im a new surf owner (3weeks) and Im slowly wotking through the things that need done. The problem im having is when I activate 4WD for H4 with the button, the actuator connects the rear prop with the front prop but the front case appears not to be connected i.e front wheels got no drive. Jacked it up, and started it again activated 4WD and put in park (auto), and could not turn front prop by hand so connected, as i could turn it before pressing button. Also the same in 4L, low ratio box goes in but still 2WD. Is it my front transfer case or is it electrical. Oh and no dash lights indicating 4WD at all. I have never driven 4WD on hard surfaces, but dont know whether previous owner did.

Any help as to solution would be greatly appreciated, cos as of now off roading is mounting the curb in a tight space.
    Cheers

Have a look at this pic and check that the vac hoses are connected around the T piece on the left hand side of the pic

also try moving to/fro a few feet when you engage 4wd

I think its just the back that are locking hubs, the ones i have are like those pictured further down.

Do I have to turn anything in them?

Thanks dude, have been through the vac pipes, on the diagrams in the attachments, all are connected and seem in good nick. Would it be necessary to check every inch of rubber? Or is a visual check enough?

The pipes may have splits in them
