  • Oil flush

What's the general consensus. Do or Don't?

I know using a proper heavy duty detergent oil is the preferable method,
as it cleans over a length of time. Has anyone ever suffered problems with
a blockage from the quick flush additives, however?

    Cheers.

If you get a Captain Mainwaring for that, I'm going off to sulk. Everybodies
getting one lately except me. Hope things go well, by the way Richard.
Do you think you'll have withdrawal symptoms whilst it's garaged?

What's even worse is you'll have free time to think up extra mods as well.
It'll be like dangling a carrot.

Which one are you going for? I keep shifting the snorkel up the list, even
though I've never gone wading. You just never know if.........

That makes the competition a bit less of a problem then.

Must admit, for aesthetics, I really like the ones Woodzie and Blizzard did.
They did look nice. If I manage to get some 2 1/2 alloy pole, that's the way
I'll probably be going. With how quick I tend to get round to doing things,
however, it'd probably take me two years.

), anyone advise, yay or nay?

Nay. Last time I did an oil change I used 4 ltr of engine oil, ran it for a while then drained again. Really cleaned out the engine well. Next lot of oil stayed cleaner for quite a while.

Drain the old oil out, leave the filter, drop some fresh in and just fast idle it
for ten minutes or so, or go for a drive around, then drop and replace oil/filter?
Cheers once again Nev. I'm gonna' owe you a cartload of favour points at this
                          rate.
