Just how OK are BF Goodrich A/Ts for everyday road use. i.e how slippery are they on wet tarmac and how noisy are they. What are they like at high motorway speeds and cornering.
I know they're 50% on-road and 50% off-road tyres, but I don't think I want road tyres, as I do use some forest tracks from time to time which have a lot of sharp stones and a bit of mud. However, I do do a lot of daily commuting on tarmacadam roads and I want a tyre that is quiet, and grips well at high-speeds and on cornering.
BFG A/Ts only have a Q speed rating <99mph, by the way, and they are a slightly larger diameter 31x10,5x15 than the standard 265/70R15, by one inch, so the speedo will have a percentage error (watch the speed cameras!)
I know about the BFG Long Trail. Any recommendations on that one? I don't like the look of the tread pattern much.
BY the way does everyone else find it difficult to find a tyre centre that actually has quality (i.e non-budget) All Terrain tyres in stock. YOu can't even get the 'Bridgestone A/T with UNI-T' tyres in this country, I've tried, and yet they're on the Bridgestone website.
