Folks, was just reading another thread about fuel consumption and so many people are either bending the truth slightly, or I have lead boots, or so many other possibilities.
I suppose I get about 250 to 275 miles per tank, and I dont think I have a particularly heavy right foot. I've tried the proprietry fuel additive type cleaners with little change in performance / consumption and wondered if they really make a difference?
Fuel injectors are pretty hostile places, and the cr@p that gets burnt on must be pretty tough to shift. I'm wondering if a chemical (which doesn't seem that aggressive - you can buy it in Halfrauds over the counter) is really up to the job.
Would I be better pulling the injectors and getting them cleaned properly? There is a local engineering firm that does it.
What kind of job is it to remove / replace the injectors?
