    Shocks 101..........

The kits come with 3000's cos thay are cheaper. Its not as staight forward as this shock or that shock...You don't want just firmer shocks for offroad, anything that limits flex and articulation is bad, you want firmer shocks for road driving on a big truck to control body lean and keep the wheels under control.

3000's are designed to be inbetween hard and soft settings, so are a direct replacement, 9000's are slightly firmer than hard setting to allow for the extra momentum that lifted trucks produce rolling into corners, and heavier wheel and tyre combo's. this in effect make then feel the same a stock truck on 3000's

Have said that, this is the clever bit, the nitrogen charged 9000's (or any other brands) have a certain amount of rebound, so the shock tries to self extend all the time, this is good offroad as although you have harder shocks to keep the truck level, they will help articulation by pushing the axle down holes slightly. Also they help hold the truck level on the road so don't get a jarr'ed ride that just harder springs shocks will produce, IMHO they are nearly smooth as the 3000's on the same truck, while giving you less wallowing round corners.

    Different shocks for different trucks.

    Enjoy.

PS, I can get Procomp shocks cheaper than most places.

Thanks Tony, thats very useful, i think i might understand it now! Just as long as they don't make my cruise machine bounce like it's an empty Landy on leaf springs i'll be happy. Now i know i can only get 31" tires on even with the lift i'll get them first and see how much i get stuck. I presume you'll still be dealing all sorts by the time i need them so i'll check those prices with you then
