Got round to removing pitman arm and replacing it this evening,
I tried a 3-arm puller - failed
hitting with lump hammer - failed
angle-grinder - won!! - cut through it, until just before splines, then wacked it with lump hammer and off it came. a solution to finding a 'rare' pitman arm puller. - very satisfying
only problem is... the old pitman arm ball-joint seemed to be fine, and its the steering box which is probably duff..
MOT on wednesday... first one of ownership of the 4runner,
its bound to fail, as there is defintely something dodgy in the steering,
