Mornin
Has anyone out there ever taken the crankshaft pullies off thier Surf. If so I would be really gratefull for an explanation of how the assembly comes apart. I have taken the two seperate pullies off which were held on by four bolts. Now I am left with the task of taking the two remaining pullies off with a puller. The type of puller that is recomended to remove the said pullies is of the stearing wheel type which has bolts that screw into the holes where the four bolts were which were holding on the outer two pullies. Thats ok but would suggest that the pullies do not come off individually but as part of a larger assembly which includes the plate(?) or what ever the puller bolts are screwed into.
I have just spoken to the dreaded Toyota dealer and he has told me that the pullies are a seperate item. If that is the case then I am a little confused as to how they are fitted to the plate that has the puller attached. Especially as there appears to be rubber underneath the pullies.
Does all this make sense? Come on chaps, someone must have an idea what I`m rattlin on about!!!
