  • Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can someone please advise me on this noise??
Just driven 4 hours solid on the motorway, checked oil and everything before I set off. As I reached my destination, the front end started making a real high pitched grinding metal noise. Pulled over immediatley, the engine is running fine, all the wheel nuts are on tight, and the noise is when travelling straight and when cornering. Drives fine, steering is fine - no crunchiness. Temp and oil pressure is fine. The noise is not constant but sounds very bad.

Can anyone tell me what this is? It sounds wheel related but seems to come from both sides. Is it wheel bearings??

Anyone know what this is?? and does anyone know a good garage in Derby??

Hmm could be the low pad warning metal on metal screeeech.
Or it could be the inner & outer brass bushes on the inside of the hub, sort of sounds like a wheel bearing noise, like it running out of true. Loud vibrating rumbling noise and yes open passenger window and yes its the passenger side, open drivers window no wait its this side.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.

        Fixed

Problem solved, after much deliberation - called AA, thats what I pay them for. Collapsed wheel bearing was the source of my troubles. Got recovered home on the back of a lowloader.

Thanks to those who looked and offered suggestions.
