Anyone know the difference between the wiring loom in a 4 runner drivers door to that of a gen 2 surf?

Odd door wiring problem...

The question was actually to see if anyone knew specifically because:
I replaced the door completely including the loom because the bottom of the old door had rotted all the way through.
Process went as follows:- Get 4runner door from LordLucan
- Put hilux door in passat by lowering front seats, tilting hilux door through front passat door and somehow getting it into the boot, then raise front seats again
- Get home, take off old door, place new door on car
- Remove old tinted glass from old door
- Recoonect all wiring
- Test all works
- Central locking fails in key
- Replace entire locking mechanism from OLD door back into new door
- Central locking still fails
- Trace all wiring in the new loom
- Find the loom has a diferent set-up on the 4 runner to the surf by seemingly 2 wires
Even more strangely... The 2 wires I 'cut' and joined to the be the same as the surf and now no longer go to the connector don't seem to have broken anything else.. ..======

Well, yup... that was why I did it - even after checking the microswitch operation with a multimeter (just to make sure I wasn't going mad) I decided to rip open the tape on the wiring loom, and lo and behold - it's subtley different for seemingly no apparent reason... I guess the central locking controller on the 4runner must have different inputs....
Just seemed really odd!======

CL module seemed ok before I changed the door/door loom over and all seems to be working now I have made my slight wiring change. Checked the old loom and it is definitely different with the door switch and microswitch on the lock hard wired together - wiring colours are different too on the looms. I checked the connections where the surf loom joins to make sure it wasn't someone elses fix job on the original loom, but the connections seem to be exactly like the other factoer ones on the rest of the car where 2 wires join in a "t".
Ho hum, it seems to work ok now, just wondered if anyone knew.======

Seems like a pretty solid theory to me. Makes perfect sense that you wouldn'twant the door switch locking the doors and turning on the alarm, so it would be on a seperate pair of cables.
That would mean however, that the 4Runner WOULD have had central locking, but the Surf did not
Thanks for your input======
