Not really. Nothing on the back of the truck is straight or level!
If I decided to weld a bracket onto the swing away wheel carrier frame, would I just have to disconnect the battery's earth? Or will I fry the electrics on the truck?

yeah I saw those, and 4x4cb sell them too i beleive, but the mount would look wrong if it was fixed on wonky.
I want the mount to be fixed on however is easiest, in line with the tube, but leaving the flat surface that the ariel mounts to level if poss, soI think i'll just weld a bracket onto the rear wheel frame and stop wingeing about it.. its only for the fooking ariel for gods sake!
Thanks for all your inputs though guys, much appreciated.
I will post some pictures up once it is done so you can see what i was going on about LOL!

Well here's how I ended up mounting my ariel onto my 3rd Gen:
Just need to wait for the rain to stop so I can paint it black, and I might have to earth the wheel carrier to the body too, but I will use the hinge bolt as the earth point.
Cheers,
