Not Charging

I have had the clocks out to replace blown bulbs and when I started her back up the warning laps came on the dash battery, AT temp etc and she isn’t charging.
I have checked battery terminals, earths and checked voltage on alternator terminal and it isn’t putting anything out just reads battery voltage.
The battery light is on with the ignition and doesn’t illuminate when you remove the connector from the back of the alternator (as it should)
Have I disturbed something behind the dash? or is it just coincidence the alternator failed the very next time I started it up?
What is the ALT fuse? it looks ok but haven’t dug it out to check.
Any thoughts before I pull the alternator off??

Not while I had the clocks out as I needed the ignition on to find which bulbs had gone.

Check the 7.5A charge fuse in the box in the engine compartment.

Thanks have just gone out and checked it and its fine if you remove it (or it blows) you dont get a battery dash light.

OK, sorry, didn't read your original post properly.
The ALT fuse is for the the alternator, if it's blown there will be no output from the alt.

Thaks Bushwhacker have just checked the 100A fuse and its ok

If the fuses are OK and the belts are tensioned OK, then it's the alternator thats gubbed.

Thanks I have just pulled it off and the brushes look ok but I guess it’s gone if theres nothing else it can be.
Be another week now before she is back on the road bet the snow has gone by then.

Is there a seperate voltage regulator on the back? It may be possible to get that replaced/repaired instead of sourcing the whole unit.

Yeah did think of that its odd looking thing wraps around the back of the alternator not like a box you can just change like on others I have seen but complete new ones aren’t that expensive.
Quickest way to get her running again will be from Milners although I ordered some pads on Friday night and they haven’t arrived yet
