Well, tried the new switch and lamp from every live wire I could find in the original position - NOTHING!!

Decided to take the lower dash off on the drivers side. Found a cable that was live (12V) only when the ignition was on, took a line off that to the switch, checked integrity of existing cable to fog lamp position, fine, so no need to replace that. Wired the switch in as per instructions, and it works

So, have almost got everything back in place now - the new switch has been put near the idle-up button where there was an unsued blank, and with the help of a dremel, the switch is now housed nicely there.

There was originally an extra tell tale wired in - but the new switch has a tell-tale light built in, so I'm not going to wire that extra tell tale in as I don't need it and can't be bothered with the extra wiring grief

Still need to go back out and tidy all the trim and bits up, but have been called in to watch the kids while the Mrs takes the girls dancing, so will tidy it all up after that

Sorry - should maybe have said the fuse that was supplied with the kit is wired in where it should be as per the kit instructions

an easy way to wire a rear fog light is to take a live off a rear running light(no need for a relay of fuse as the lamp aint high enough wattage to need a relay and they are already fused!)anyway take the live off the running light run to the foglight and then from the foglight to a switch at the front from the switch to a ground point, this way you are switching the negitive.

To pass an mot there should be a visual indicator that the switch is on ie an led built into the switch.

sorry thats a bit late for you now you've bought one!
