  • Boot light / tailgate Switch

    Hi,

I've tried searching but can't find the answer!

Where is the switch that operates the light in the boot?

I've just replaced the Tailgate window motor, regulator (ebay) and Window Channels (Roughtrax - channels were a nervous Job, I was terrified of braking the glass!)
On the regulator there are 2 switches - one is connected to the boot lock and warning light on dashboard (which didn't work before)
The other switch is moved by the regulator - is this the light switch? Or is it more likely to be a broken wire?
The window is now working perfectly - but it's annoying that the light has to be switched on manualy (bulb works!), because I then forget to turn it off!

    Thanks for any help.

Does anybody know the answer? Also i am going to install an alarm which checks the boot is locked and this switch is the one i need to wire into.
I guess if i jump across the terminals and the light comes on i'll know whether the switch is broken?

its on one of the latches, can't remember which side.

but it won't tell you if its locked or the window is up, just shut.

That's what i need then - as long as the boot is closed the alarm will work - if it gets opened the alarm will go off - what is the switch on the regulator for then?

I think i've worked it out! the switch on the regulator stops the motor trying to go down when it's already down.
