  • Headlamps fuses blowing

I was driving the other night on highbeam with my rooflights on as well
when all the lights went out except the side lights.
The 2 10amp headlamp fuses had blown.
When I changed the fuses one of the headlamps would not work, so I changed the bulb and it seems the original bulbs were uprated ones 80/100watt ones.
If I run these uprated bulbs should I uprate the fuses to 15amp?
would these bulbs running for a while blow the 10amp fuses?

You need to uprate the wiring before you uprate a fuse. The fuse is there to protect the circuit. Higher capacity fuse may not blow when there is a fault so you end up with a fire instead. Are your roof lighs on their own relay or have you got a dodgy wiring setup?

as Nev said mate checck your wireing set up first, dont go uprating fuses until you are sure the wireing is as it should be, why do you have the uprated lamps is it darker than dark where you live?

The car came with the uptared bulbs.
Yes it is darker than dark here.
