  • extra sockets

being useless at soldering is there anything i can use to connect an inline fuse to my + terminal on battery and then onto my cable, i'm putting extra cigarette sockets in the boot, one on each side of rear pillar, is it ok to use one battery for one side and other battery for the other ?, i've been warned Scotch Lok connectors are pretty useless

Spade connectors (the female type) crimped onto the ends of the wire, then connected onto a standard fuse. Add a bit of tape to secure it all and jobs a good-un.

BTW, what sort of sockets are you fitting? If they're proper surface mounted ones, where are you getting them from as I have been looking for some for ages.

Got a part number? The only ones I've found there aren't surface mounted.

Get 4 in a row, surface mount with two self tappers into plastic trim. cut square hole and fit standard Toyota rocker switch ( just for safety's sake).
Halfords :-( do 4 in a strip for about £5 with an LED so you can see if they're on in the rearview mirror! Run cable each side and make all connections inside the trim, plenty of room. I've got 12v in nearside rear pillar and 250v in offside via an inverter. Make sure all wiring is butch enough and fuse both + and - at 20A to make them useful.
Yes! It's still in the garage. M1ROD

That's technically a flush mount, not surface.

True, and that's actually the type I meant.
