I have a 2.4 TD SSR G, 1992, just purchased it, and noticed that in this cold weather the pre heat time is very short, only 2 to 3 seconds, the car starts alright, if you keep the engine turning over for 5 or 6 seconds, so I think the glo plugs are ok, is this short pre heat normal, if not is it adjustable or indicitive of a fault with the pre heat relay/ sensor?

when the light goes out wait a few more seconds then start it, the heater plugs will be still glowing, if you listen you will hear the box click off under the bonnet long after the light has gone outOriginally posted by carl starkI have a 2.4 TD SSR G, 1992, just purchased it, and noticed that in this cold weather the pre heat time is very short, only 2 to 3 seconds, the car starts alright, if you keep the engine turning over for 5 or 6 seconds, so I think the glo plugs are ok, is this short pre heat normal, if not is it adjustable or indicitive of a fault with the pre heat relay/ sensor?[font=Times New Roman][size=3]
