My head gasket 'went' at 99k. When stripped. one side had been done, one not, so obviously 'fixed' by some cowboy outfit. The motor now runs great, has covered 101k miles.
When my problem occurred I got a lot of advice from guys off here, basically saying not to cut corners with cheap gasket sets, etc. I also had a new radiator, the old one was blocked - again a known and common problem.
I would advise anyone who hasn't yet had the problem to get their car checked out if at all possible, cos the radiator blockage is going to cause a lot of damage and will cost you big time.
    Dave.

My 1st engine lasted 269,000 miles, my second engine now has 30,000 miles on it. I did notice that my oil pressure went to !!!! @ about 200,000 miles with the 1st engine and it never corrected itself with the new engine.
The toyota dealership mechanics say it could die tomorrow or last another 5 years.
I changed EVERYTHING connected with oil pressure and still the same oil pressure reading. besides that, the engine runs great!!! I don't even notice the oil pressure problem.
WHEN it dies I'm going with the toyota 1KZ-T turbo diesel.
