I once accidentally knocked mine from N to D with the revs up. Don't recommend it for the transmission's sake but I almost shat myself when it took off!
Aside from that I agree with what everyone else is saying - the motor loves to rev and really gets into its stride above 3500RPM.
I do love the auto box but it can be reluctant to get down a gear sometimes; locking it in L or 2 is a completely different experience to driving in D, even when the ECT is set to PWR.
