Hmm - it is indeed. Although I'll be honest he may have decided to offer that price as the cost for a straight engine swap with stock ECU's, anything else extra (which would make sense)

For the £3500 for me he added all the following:

      2" lift
      Spitronics ECU/TCU
      3 new gauges & senders
      Fabricate guage pod
Replace all speakers, install bass unit, head unit and reversing camera
remove old aerial, install new on top of cab
5" wheel spacers, new tyres and rims
      remove all bumpers and steps
weld on rock sliders and rear bumper
Install new bumper, cut and fit indicator housings
Clean and fit winch and associated electrics
      Remove and fix propshaft (seized)
      powerwash and hammerite all chassis
      Clean and Respray engine bay
Cut and fit bonnet vents / respray bonnet
      Replace side tyre guard, respray
Fix fan selector problem - add LED's to backlight
LED's in dashboard display to illuminate dial needles in white (same as new gauges)
New foglight front and rear with selector buttons in dash
      Fix rear electric window
      new steering wheel and pedals
Removal of pneumatic 4WD selector process

So, I'll be honest I think I got my moneys worth !

Haha - OK. Will do. It will have to wait 10 days or so as I am away, but I will try to photograph and list everything.

                        OK OK.

What is happening is this. It was running a bit rich and stalling occasionally in standing traffic, so I took it to a garage that is a performance specialist that was happy to have a crack at the Spitronics engine management rather than what I usually get which is 'sorry we just install maps...'

They have now been playing with it for about a month (I did get a fixed fee from them beforehand!) because there were queries as to the sensors reading correctly to the spitronics, and maps that were unused.

So - Lambda sensor now reading correctly so they have sorted out the mix, and they have also added some extra sensors for water temp and cold air intake and resolved the injector duty cycle incorrectly matching the millisecond injector map (or something!).

They are concerned about something banging in the transmission as it is not smooth, so they are looking at that too. It is set up as the standard Lexus box, so they are thinking right now about lockup and the amount of torque and slip for the clutch now that they have started to increase the power somewhat.

So. Thats where we are. Should be done next week - after that its to the bodyshop !!

Well here you go. Apologies for the delay - it was in the shop! Will post some interior shots a bit later today so you can see the gauges and other bits.

Engine Management? DON'T GET ME STARTED !!!

Still having a cut out issue and have been running logs and so on, but once I save a log I cant reopen it due to a bug with the software so have to import it into Excel as a csv, and create my own graphs. Trouble is the csv doesn't contain column names so although i can see one component dropping -I dont know what it is. Other than the fact that the value is 42.....

                                Frustrating.

Have been on to the owner of Spitronics Peet Pelser, who has been very helpful in where to look. The map is fine according to him, but there are a few bits I should check. He has also told me that the firmware is now 2 revisions out of date so I can upgrade it, which will sort out the bug in recording the graphs. Trouble is I need a special cable.

At which point I find they now have a UK dealer !! Guy called Andy at www.race-systems.co.uk and it has only been running for about 2 weeks so he's just getting stock in at the moment.

So I have a cable on order to help me upgrade the firmware from 2.4 to 3.4 so I can at least accurately identify the logs !!!

                                The saga continues.

on a brighter note, I took my mate out, drove around a bit and then floored it, and watched in great amusement as he had 'involuntary seat grabbing reflex' - just about made my week !
