The attention to detail Vince puts into these is incredible....if I ever feel the need to view some Surf p0rn, a quick browse through these threads works a treat
OK, time for an update.
Lost my MoJo for a while and had to re-fab a lot of stuff just because I wanted to give the conversion a factory look. (apart from the added bling of course)
Anyhoo, re-mounted the engine/gearbox so I could get the cooling fan on the engine side of the radiator, which allowed the A/C to be reinstalled.
I was even able to use the original 3.0 fan shroud, should help with cooling now there's a lot more hardware in front of the rad........
All cleaned, refurbished, polished and/or painted of course.
Decided to colour code the engine cover to act as a rain shield if needed.
There was a cut-out already there at the back which came in handy to nestle the fuel pressure regulator in there......
Binned the purple accents in favour of the anodised red look, as it's difficult to find the accessories I needed in purple.
Just got to get the fecker to run now.....
There's a number of other bits and pieces I've fabbed up, cleaned, polished and/or painted, but I'll let the owner discover them when he gets it back.
You've done a million and one jobs on that.. Twice. was going to ask whether the bonnet vents would cause problems in the rain and you've already got it sorted!
It isn't said enough..
BUSHWHACKER YOU'RE A FREAKIN LEDGEND!
Do you want that nudgebar put back on, or would you like your spots mounted on the bumper, one next to each headlight where the blanked off sections of the grille are?
Forgot to mention, the grille is colour coded too!
On the aircon side I didnt think it would fit or is the length of the VVTI engine shorter in some way than the earlier 1UZ?
Only asking as the Mrs wants me to put the AC back in mine but was working on the basis that it would be too tight a squeeze to get the condensor back in. Ill have to wait until mine is in before making some measurements and hold off removing the compressor from the engine whilst on the stand.
The engine is the same size as the earlier versions.
I've used a standard 3.0 diesel rad and condenser in their original positions.
I had to 'massage' the bulkhead a little behind the passenger side valve cover and I've sat the engine as low as possible. There's only 15-20mm clearance between the sump and the relay rod!
Re: A/C wiring, just extend the compressor wires to reach the other side of the engine compartment.
Re: A/C plumbing, most of it will be bespoke.

Also, what about that full set of window deflectors, do you want those fitted too?
