If the seat's won't necessarily fit in a Disco, and they happen to being 'beige' or whatever colour Lexus call it - I would be interested in having them - my drivers seat won't recline!

Thought of just replacing the motors?

Blue I'm afraid..I'll sort you the motors tho when I finally start gutting (and i have the time of course).

Tidied the garage today..jus need a small patch in the footwell, and to free the brakes off on the cossie..MOT an tax it then there's room for the truck

I've thought about it - unfortunately they work fine - the drivers seat console side spline on the recliner bar that goes across the back from the motor to the reclining hinge seems to have come detached - but it looks EXACTLY the same as the passenger side one...

Squashing it together (as if trying to push the splines back in) doesn't make any difference - and it looks like the entire upholstery needs to come off if I need to get the mechanism out - unless you can shed any light?

            And so it begins..

Spent a couple of hours cleaning the crud from underneath and giving it a general bufty, don't think it's ever been so clean.

So it's in the shed for the forseeable..started on the inside exposing the harness, clocks and main dash plastics all off

You only need to get at the two multiplugs behind the Surf's ECU for 98% of the wiring, the other 2% is 12v supplies from the battery and ignition.

I do remove the clocks though, to add an extra wire to one of the plugs on the back so that the engine check light works. (there's and orange check light in the corner next to the Norm/hard light thats not used in the diesel trucks)

                  Prop shafts off
Measly armour off (tank & TC)
                  Tank loosened for removal
                  Cross member loosened for removal
                  Exhaust off

                  Next;

                  Bumper & grill
                  Rad & fan
                  Split the front member
and organize the loom..separate the vehicle & engine looms

Had a little moment yesterday..as i was pulling the wiring it dawned on me i no real idea of what i was actually doing.. ..so i took a time out to do some research, found a few decent wiring diagrams over on daemon 4x4.

Had another this morn with a fresh head on. Separated and snipped the wiper motor wires then connected the batt' and did a systems check..everything was all good (apart from the wipers obviously ). The engine systems; oil press', tach and coolant etc are going to be compromised also, so ill have to work back from the instrument panel to make connections on the uzy.

Still not sure which way to go with the dash; surf, lex or aftermarket.?
