The Lexus doesn't have a transfer case!!

I'm assuming you mean that the Lexus transfer case is the same as a 2nd gen and you would need to put the 3rd gen TC on the end of the Lexus engine.

When the conversion is done on the 2nd gen Surf, it's transfer case is fitted to the rear of the Lexus transmission, once that transmission's output shaft has been modified.

When the conversion is done to a 3rd gen, the output shaft from the 3rd gen's transmission needs to be fitted to the Lexus transmission because the 3rd gen Surf's transfer case is different.

In other words, both transmissions need disemboweling to change the output shafts over.

If you've seen an auto trans. being dismantled, you'll know what I mean when I say 'disemboweled'!

OK, I've looked into it, and the only hard part is the transfer case.
It's on the other side to the 2nd gen and because of the centre diff, the Lexus transmission's output shaft needs replacing with the Surf's.
